In the centre of Bottrop, an apartment house at Luggesmühle is to replace a single-family house that blends in with its surroundings. Due to its materiality, this fits perfectly into the immediate surroundings and still has modern elements due to its closed and yet playful design language.

The stretcher bond of the facade becomes the aesthetic theme of the building and forms small projections and recesses on each floor. In addition, the openings of the building are arranged irregularly in the facade, which breaks the building’s straightness and gives it an individual character.

The floor plans correspond to the current wishes of the tenants with open kitchens and loggias belonging to the apartments or exits to the garden on the ground floor and to the roof terrace on the top floor.
