Island of artistic handcrafts

In the heart of Venice in Italy, we proposed the conversion of a cultural centre and made the Venetian craftsmanship the theme. The venetian handicraft was essential responsible for the today´s city backdrop. The three main crafts stonemasons, bricklayer, carpenter plus the glassblower were considered as masters of their art and coordinate the whole construction process. Nowadays this virtuosity of the former prestigious city is deemed to be extinct. Our proposal offers a new platform of self-realization for the venerable, artisanal professions in just off the Arsenale. Simultaneously the tourist gets sensitised for the traditional handicrafts by integrating a temporary exhibition into the building ensemble of this conversion of a cultural centre in the heart of Venice in Italy.
