Hotel, Motzen

Due to its expressive facade, the design for the hotel extension in Motzen creates a bridge between the adjacent lake and the nearby pine forest. Reference is made to the vertical structure of the forest in the form of curtain wall elements made of pine wood, which the building naturally blends into the landscape and deliberately stands out from the existing hotel building.

The structural bulkheads allow every hotel guest a private view of the lake without feeling disturbed by the adjacent existing building. Pastel colors and natural surfaces in the form of clay and wood provide an additional reference to the forest.

The new building extension is accessed through an open corridor, which on the one hand digs into the topography and on the other hand allows a wide panorama of the lake. From here, a sculptural staircase as the core of the building leads to the individual floors.
