Office 51°7
Bochum, Germany
2024
The office building office 51°7 is located in the eponymous Mark 51°7 area in Bochum.
The industrial estate is located on the site of the former Opel plant, between the districts of Altenbochum and Laer. It is a centrally located site, bordered to the south by the A448 motorway and to the east by the B226 with tram lines. This convenient location ensures excellent connections to both local public transport and individual car traffic.
The ensemble of buildings in the office zone consists of three elongated structures, so-called blocks, which are connected to each other by two connecting buildings. These are located on Suttner-Nobel-Allee, which runs right through the area. The urban arrangement breaks up the solidity of the buildings, which improves the scaling of the development.
There are green spaces and water basins between the individual blocks, which serve both as recreational areas and for cooling. The façades of the buildings are made of a combination of glass and aluminium, which gives the ensemble a modern and elegant look. The design is accentuated by a curtain wall façade, particularly at the entrance areas and the connecting buildings.
Environmentally friendly measures such as a photovoltaic system and green roofs complement the sustainable concept of the office building in Bochum.
