Atmosphere

In the municipality of Nabburg, we supervised the conversion of an old farmhouse and breathed new life into it under the term “atmosphere”. It is based on the results of a three-month research trip on the subject of “wabi-sabi” in Japan. These findings were compared with the Western concept of “atmosphere”. An important role in this work is played by the question of sensory perception, which is generally recognised as being expressed above all in the perception and the associated spatial perception of the present.
Research emphasises the importance of those who create the atmosphere. Dealing with atmospheres can thus be described as a craft that requires an enormous sensitivity to the properties of the objects and their handling of external influences of light, shadow and temporal changes
